INTRODUCTION

The simple and daily gesture of drinking a water glass it is not always reached for all people and unfortunately, a high percentage of the population cannot have water with enough quality to its consumption and for basic daily tasks. An example of this could be a boy of Kenya that must cross everyday 5 km to take control of a water bucket that will have to ration for all the day.

Unfortunately the water is not as habitual resource as we think, in fact only a 0.0025% of water of the planet is apt for the human consumption and simultaneously accessible for us. The resources are exhausted. Each year the consumptions of water increase considerably in proportion to the exhaustion and contamination of the water-bearing ones. That's why, measured that implies serious environmental consequences must be taken as the installation of desalination plants to obtain water of consumption from water of sea.

Our company is born with the objective to optimize the rational use of these hydro resources and to adapt them to the human daily tasks and its use in the industrial process that usually imply great consumptions and generate polluting effluents simultaneously that must correctly be treated.


But for all the uses that we can give the water there is one which is the most important, the water for consumption. The three fourth parts of our body are formed by water, and although a person can survive more than three weeks without eating, it will not be able to do it more than nine days without drinking. In addition, a water of a suitable quality contributes the mineral salts necessary to survive. Unfortunately, the water is also one of the main vectors of transmission of diseases and nowadays causes the death of million people. In Spain we have norms which forces to us to treat water for human consumption. Unfortunately, the implantation in total population centres is slow and are common the buds of gastroenteritis due to a bad quality of the water.

Although the most important use of the water is for human consumption, we do not have to forget its use in the industry like coolant, to form water steam, like regulator of the temperature, universal dissolvent. The case is that every year is consumed an enormous amount of tons of water that unfortunately in many cases are not given back to the ecosystem with the initial quality which can cause environmental disasters, a continued exhaustion of the hydro resources and a progressive worsening of the quality of the fluvial water that affects directly into a serious imbalance in the ecosystem.

Hidritec works with the two most important measures which are necessary. In the first place, the saving and reusability of the water in the industry. And secondly, the treatment and the adjustment of these spills. It means, to diminish consumptions, to diminish remainders and finally, to eliminate this remainder.

We cannot also forget the use of water for recreational aims. We are speaking of swimming pools, bath and spas. The use of chlorine and chemical agents force to us to have a high degree of renovation of the water which causes highest water consumptions.

On the other hand, an incorrect treatment of the swimming pool can generate problems in the swimmers, infectious diseases, irritations, asthma etc. Hidritec works with alternative treatments to the traditional chlorination that allow to reduce drastically the consumption of water and to increase enormously the quality of the same one. Flavours and scents of chlorine are also eliminated.


Finally, we can see some example of the technology that Hidritec uses for the cases that previously we have mentioned:

Ozone is a very powerful oxidant, with a speed of disinfection 3000 times superior to the chlorine that later is transformed into oxygen with which we do not produce any remainder.

By reverse osmosis and filtration with membranes, we are able to separate in a selective way important polluting agents that can be present in the water, to reuse a residual water of very poor quality and to generate extreme pure water from whatever water.

With the use of saline electrolysis we generate a chlorine current in situ exempts of all chemical compounds usually used, from a slightly salty bath and electricity avoiding the cost and the manipulation, always dangerous, of chlorine in deposits.

 

The ultraviolet radiation in a suitable wavelength allows a complete sterilization of the water destroying any type of pathogenic agent who could contain.

By the use of photometric analyzers we are able to meter in continuous and with exactitude the chlorine amount, so we can fit its level from a value of slogan, being able even to control the operation in a remote way with a mobile phone.

We apply all these technologies based on two basic principles: Quality and Respect by the Environment.


Thanks to this presentation the Hidritec company was awarded by the Institute of Economic Development and the Council of Industry of the Principado de Asturias with the public prize to the best enterprise project granted by the Center of Companies of Valnalón.
